The storm will pass, but our lives have already changed.
Since the announcement of the pandemic and stay at home order has gone into full effect, our lives have changed in extreme ways. Suddenly, Glenn and Jae, both designers/artists based in NYC and are roommates, started working from home and have spent most of our time at home.
One day when we went out for grocery shopping, we found some rainbow drawings and thank you messages on our neighbors’ windows. These images and messages kept our eyes on, and started to see more since we noticed them. Through the COVID-19 outbreak, the world has become filtered through our windows, ranging from family houses and individuals’ apartments, to the reflective panes of shuttered businesses. Windows have transformed into community message boards, as handwritten signs began to emerge.
Photographers and historians have documented moments in time of transition, such as the Great Depression and World Wars. As we are also living in this historical moment, we all could be frontline photojournalists on the street. This is why we have started a photojournal made by all of us.
Please expect for a potential publication and/or an exhibition with all contributors credited when this pandemic ends. We’ll keep you updated.
We are also interested in how people WORK FROM HOME and how people do SOCIAL DISTANCING that many individuals are having to do in order to adapt in hopes of making it through this period.
Stay safe.
With warmest regards,
