“Something broke in the early 1970s. The real wages of US workers stagnated while GDP continued to rise. In short, the economic success of the nation was decoupled from that of its workers. We have seen that trend since, and the institutional behavior during this recent crisis shows which interests motivate them. It’s time to subvert the institutions by being better than them, outside of them. We need more naivety. We need more audacious business owners. And of course, we need representatives that listen to us. But I think hope lies in regular folks doing great things.”
