"The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California is located in San Francisco’s Japantown. The historic Japantown is the first and oldest in America. Our theme during this shelter-in-place is, “Although We Are Apart, We are a Community at Heart. It’s a message of hope during this pandemic and a reminder that the last time the community was separated during WWII and sent to various concentrations camps throughout America. People never gave up on the spirit of the community and returning back to Japantown.”
